SUMMARY:Cooking with Cannabis Introduction Class
DESCRIPTION:Blend the magic of cannabis with the craft of cooking in this introductory class that will teach you the basics of cooking with cannabis. Held in our demo kitchen\, we will show you how to make infused butter and oil to give you the building blocks to include hemp in your dishes! \nDecarb & Infuse \nDecarboxylation\, or decarb for short\, is the process of altering the chemical makeup of cannabis to create a potent formula for edibles\, oils\, and salves. During this class\, you’ll learn the decarboxylation process so you can infuse your medical marijuana or hemp flower into foods. \nDosing Edibles \nUnless you invest in an at-home THC tester\, there’s no way to know exactly how potent your infusion is. You can\, however\, do a calculation to get a rough estimate of potency. During this session\, we’ll go over the process of dosing edibles to ensure safe consumption.* \nAbout the Instructor \nAs a chronic pain sufferer\, related to spine issues and migraines\, Heather Kreider a Registered Nurse\, knows first-hand how cannabis can help patients live a happier\, healthier life. She is an Medical Marijuana card holder in PA\, cannabis advocate and strives to break the stigma that cannabis users are “a bunch of burnouts.” Heather is also certified in Advanced Cannabis Training and is PA Dispensary Agent Certified. \nHeather also helps patients navigate the process of obtaining a medical marijuana card\, working with dispensaries\, and determining the medical marijuana formulations and application methods that will best target the symptoms they’re experiencing. Her goal is to alleviate the gap in patient education by helping individuals understand the different types of cannabinoids\, terpenes\, and ways to consume medical marijuana. She also helps guide patients in how to safely administer the products they purchase. \n*Basic recipe include.

SUMMARY:Deep Rest Mini Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Deep Rest Mini Retreat\nDaily rest is a vital component to vibrant health that is missing from modern life. While at rest\, we release the effects of stress on the body and we let our inner wellspring replenish. By making space for rest in your life\, you create a habit of putting yourself first and allowing your mind to reset. During this mini-retreat\, longtime Yoga teacher and well rested mom\, Sara K Woll will guide you in a brief movement warm up and then into a 10 minute deep relaxation. Our central nervous systems are too often running on survival mode. When we lay down and close our eyes and stay attentive to the sensations of our body at rest\, we click down into our relaxation response. Everything slows down and you will feel the difference. \nAfter our first rest\, we’ll come back up for some herbal tea and share a conversation about how to find time to rest and what obstacles arise when we try to install new habits. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about nervines\, a class of herbs that supports a healthy response to stress\, and include them in your very own herbal eye pillow that you will fill with herbs and rice while we chat. \nOur mini-retreat will close with a longer relaxation. After spending the day slowing down and visualizing how your life could feel if you were super well rested\, you’ll get cozy in your nest with your new eyepillow and travel more deeply into a state of dep relaxation. You will be guided to let your body go and learn ways to work with your mind to experience truly restorative rest. \nPlease bring warm socks\, a blanket\, pillow and anything else you need to build a cozy nest. \nGive yourself the gift of deep rest. In just a few hours\, you will feel like you spent a whole weekend away. \nDATE: Sunday\, April 30\, 2023 \nTIME: 1:00 pm-4:00 pm \nRETREAT FEE: $60 \nFACILITATOR BIO: Sara K. Woll has been guiding folks of all ages in mindfulness and nature connection since 2001. She has grown and healed and learned so much through her daily rest practice and in relationship with plants that she is thrilled to be sharing the good news of deep rest in collaboration with magical\, balancing herbs.

SUMMARY:Community Acupuncture + the 5 Elements Series: Spring Treatment
DESCRIPTION:Community Acupuncture + the 5 Elements Series: Spring Treatment\nIn Traditional Chinese Medicine\, the five elements are associated with the seasons of Spring\, Summer\, Late Summer\, Autumn\, and Winter. Each element has many associations\, including organs\, meridians\, and characteristics. Because all five elements are present within each of us\, acupuncture can be especially beneficial at points of seasonal change\, helping us to keep them all in balance\, resulting in better health. \nCommunity acupuncture is used for overall well-being and stress management and is facilitated in a group setting rather than on an individual basis. Participants are fully supported by a zero-gravity chair and will receive a 30 – 45-minute acupuncture treatment involving the insertion of very thin needles to strategic points on arms\, legs\, and ears intended to elicit a relaxation response. \nFOCUS: During this session\, we will focus on an acupuncture treatment designed to work with the organs associated with the Chinese medicine element of Wood; the Liver and Gallbladder. We will also cover some of the other correspondences of Wood but give special attention to Wood’s pillar of health and wellbeing: Movement and Ergonomics. \nELEMENT: Wood \nDATE: Friday\, April 28\, 2023 \nTIME: 5:30 pm – 7pm \nTREATMENT FEE: $40 \nACUPUNCTURIST BIO: Nick Dower\, LAc\, is a licensed acupuncturist with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Holistic Therapy. He has a master’s degree in acupuncture from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies where he also completed a certificate program in Chinese herbal medicine. Nick practices and teaches various styles of meditation\, breathing\, yoga\, and qi gong. He has a special interest in using Chinese medical philosophy\, combined with behavior change models\, for teaching and developing the pillars of well-being.

SUMMARY:Sound Meditation with Monica Mullen
DESCRIPTION:Sound Meditation With Monica Mullen\nStart with a guided meditation paired with instruments to navigate the busy mind and allow the body to enter relaxation so it can restore itself in its natural rhythm.\nSound therapy has been an integral part of Monica’s spiritual growth\, deepening her relationship to the present moment. It brings her complete joy to facilitate experiences for others as she intuitively uses a variety of overtone emitting instruments to help empower participants settle into stillness and relaxation. \nMonica starts with a guided meditation paired with instruments in which she gives tools to use to navigate the busy mind during the session\, helping to achieve slower brainwaves to allow the body to enter relaxation so it can restore itself in its natural rhythm which is hindered by mental and physical stress. She utilizes visualization to encourage the use of the creative imagination\, adding some breath work to help release stored tension and use vocalization to bring the vibration into the body which stimulates the vagus nerve. She then allows the participants drift off to deeply listen to the sound with all of their senses. \nCLASS LENGTH: 2 hours \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: Monica found her passion as a sound practitioner after playing a singing bowl in late 2019. Since then she has followed the call of the sound by experimenting intuitively with instruments\, and receiving training from Lana Ryder\, Alexandre Tannous\, and David Shamesh. Intrigued by how sound can effect the mind\, body\, spirit\, as a divine consciousness\, she continues her education on such topics. Residing in charming Lancaster\, PA\, Monica facilitates group sound meditations and private sessions in the surrounding area\, also incorporating reiki and quantum touch in her sessions. \nCLASS FEE: $40.00 \nREMINDER: Please bring things to help you be comfortable during the one hour sound meditation session. We suggest a mat\, pillows\, blankets\, eye mask\, etc. The meditation starts promptly at 6:00 pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to find your space and get settled.

SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Designed to combat the mental and physical repercussions of everyday stress. Still the mind\, increase balance and capacity for healing\, boosts immune system functions\, and deeply relaxes the body to alleviate built up stress. \nA meditative form of yoga with a focus on breathwork and longer-held poses. More relaxed\, passive\, and slow-paced\, allowing the body tissue to rest and recover. Restorative yoga releases mind-body tension by moving at a slower\, more-relaxed pace that allows the body tissues to rest and recover. Props\, such as blocks\, straps\, and bolsters\, may be used to support your pose with ease to achieve relaxed comfort. \nRestorative yoga works with the parasympathetic nervous system\, which targets our response to stress in the body. Slow poses paired with breathwork can slow down the heart rate while increasing blood flow to your vital organs. \nCLASS LENGTH: 60 minutes \nYOGA INSTRUCTOR BIO: Beth Weaver is a Modern Alchemist\, a visionary and psychic with a drive to introduce people to their highest selves. Her way of seeing the physical and subtle human energy system leads her to notice dis-ease\, discomfort\, and desires in the physical and energetic subtle bodies. She uses her skills to address psycho-emotional and soul-related challenges that often present in the physical body. My gentle yet direct approach has guided clients to understand and articulate feelings and overcome obstacles. \nCLASS FEE: $15.00

SUMMARY:Medicate & Meditate: Sound Meditation with Monica Mullen
DESCRIPTION:Medicate & Meditate: Sound Meditation With Monica Mullen\nWhy Medicate & Meditate? For a lot of people\, meditation is difficult. Perhaps they’re too stressed out to settle into their practice. Maybe they struggle with chronic pain. Or maybe their anxiety makes the thought of sitting down and observing their thoughts feel completely overwhelming. Whatever the case\, meditation just doesn’t come easily for a lot of would-be meditators. \nBut\, for some\, cannabis can make it easier to settle into a meditation practice. Meditation has some serious stress-busting benefits—and cannabis has some serious potential to help you deepen your meditation practice. And now that you know how to use the two together\, all that’s left to do is take a hit\, relax\, and get meditating. \n\n\nStart with a guided meditation paired with instruments to navigate the busy mind and allow the body to enter relaxation so it can restore itself in its natural rhythm.\n\n\nSound therapy has been an integral part of Monica’s spiritual growth\, deepening her relationship to the present moment. The doors lock at 6:00 pm sharp. Also\, please bring things to help you be comfortable during the one-hour sound meditation. We suggest a mat\, pillows\, blankets\, eye mask\, etc. \n\n\n\nMUST BE 18 years or older to attend the class. \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: This is a cannabis-friendly space; however\, we ask that when you consume medical marijuana (MMJ) on-site\, that you show a valid PA ID and PA MMJ card.
