DESCRIPTION:Theobroma cacao\, translated to Food of the Gods\, is a superfood that is loaded with antioxidants\, an excellent source of vitamins and minerals\, and is a protector of the heart. It is known to offer a revitalizing and uplifting energy that supports the expansion of the physical\, mental\, and spiritual bodies. The cacao we will enjoy is sourced from Ecuadorian 5000+ year old heirloom trees grown and handled with respect and love. \nIn this session\, Joshua will lead us through intention setting and grounding practices to give ourselves permission to pause and fully arrive. Then\, he will introduce cacao with songs\, prayers\, and an informative talk on its scientific and energetic benefits. After we take our first sip together\, we’ll open the space for storytelling\, vulnerable sharing\, reflections\, contemplations\, celebrations\, and compassionate listening followed by a relaxed and meditative soundscape to integrate our discussions. Over the past 6 years\, his personal heart opening experiences with cacao have led him to dive deeply into its medicinal purposes\, ritual\, and rich history. He has been fortunate to work with the Cacao Laboratory team in NYC and study under the guidance of Mayan and Sapara lineages. Monica also continuously trains under Alexandre Tannous\, who is an ethnomusicologist\, sound therapist and sound researcher in NYC\, and David Shemesh\, an incredibly skilled sound facilitator and teacher based in Portugal. She enjoys continuing her education from other highly skilled sound practitioners such as Mitch Nur and Mike Tamburo. Monica has been a full time sound practitioner since 2021\, offering group and private Sound Sessions in the area\, as well as for corporate events and retreats. Her current interests besides sound and music include biogeometry\, esoteric studies and creating art.
